Feel Good Friday…#11
And sometimes it's the very otherness of a stranger, someone who doesn't belong to our ethnic or ideological or religious group, an otherness that can repel us initially, but which can jerk us out of our habitual selfishness, and give us intonations of that sacred otherness, which is God. --Karen Armstrong
The golden rule exists in almost every culture…do to others what you want them doing to you. As the Dalai Lama has said…”My religion is simple. My religion is kindness.” Compassion for others, for the world around us, is critical in the age we are living in. Here is someone doing the work, outside of government, outside of religion, yet inside the community of humankind.
Karen Armstrong won a prize to do anything she wanted and she created a charter for compassion.
Here is her video: http://www.dailygood.org/more.php?n=3758

Sometimes good ideas do move out of the realm of good ideas and into reality!
