Feel Good Friday…Insight Prison ProjectIn America 1 in 100 people are incarcerated. That is a lot of people. 80% of those people are going to get out of prison. If they continue to do what they have done in the past most of them will go back to prison. Sending people to prison is expensive no matter how you add it up…cost of housing, cost of the trial, coat to the victim, cost of loss to their community. And we can’t let crime happen. That cost is way too unacceptable. Obviously the best thing is to do the work before they do the crime. But after the time what do we do before we send them back out to make their way in the world? Maybe there is hope that we can stem the tide. Now if we could spend more money on prevention than we do on punishment we could really make some progress!
